Throughout April the market is celebrating St George and has invited some brilliant chefs from different countries and I’ve the honour to represent Greece. In Greece Saint George is associated with agriculture and proliferation say his name derives from the Greek word “georgia” meaning agriculture. The day the church commemorates Saint George, is a day of sowing for farmers in Greece.

Recipes from northern Greece, inspired by farmers’/ rural life. Cook like a peasant. My family hails from a beautiful tiny village somewhere in between Epirus and Thessaly. I grew up eating rustic, simple and honest food, cooked with seasonal ingredients, love and care.
